Jacob Hunter is the main character. At the age of thirteen, he is attacked by the legion of somatic demons that now roam the earth known as the Grigori. Isaac Jordan is Jacob’s best friend. He is also attacked at the age of thirteen and narrowly escapes the demons who are trying to eliminate him and his kin. With the aid of his inheritance, he becomes a valuable ally to Jacob and an uncommonly true friend.
Kiera Thompkins is a fifteen-year-old teenager who finds that her greatest strength is inside as she works to help the others with her incredible skills at combat.
Zach is the reluctant descendant. He fights to stay alone but when push comes to shove he finds that standing with others is more fulfilling than standing alone.

Once the bloodline of Jesus’ parents is down to seven, it signifies the end of protection for the descendants of the bloodline and the beginning of the war between good and evil.
