There are three main events that make up the End Times: the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, and the Second Coming of Christ.
First, we will look at the signs that the end is near. we start with 2 Timothy 1-5, But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
Today we live in a culture of people who love themselves. Thanks to social media, people live for likes and followers more than for friends and family. On the news every night we see youth out of control. They steal, assault, and use illicit drugs at a staggering rate. The world is out of control due to a lack of a moral standard.
Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24 speaks about wars as well as a world full of rumors of war. With the war between Ukraine and Russia going strong, The great countries of the world are taking sides. The us and many european countries are aligned with Ukraine, while China, Iran, North Korea and some smaller middle east countries are aligning with Russia. When studying history, this is how the stage is set for a future world war.
Also, before the end, the gospel will be preached to all nations.
SpaceX launched its first round of 60 Starlink satellites in May of 2019. Today the company has over 4,000 satellites in low orbit with plans to eventually have 42,000 orbiting the planet. This allows cell as well as internet service in the most remote areas. Today the gospel is reaching the world as Matthew wrote through missionaries as well as technology.
Daniel 12:4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.
This verse speaks of two signs of the end times. Because of the safety and affordability of air travel, people travel more today than at any time in history which could explain what Daniel was speaking about when he mentions many will go here and there. Because of the invention of cell phones and the availability of information at our fingertips. The increase in knowledge has never been more easily attainable and most likely fulfills this prophecy.
Finally, from my years of studying bible prophecy, I have always believed certain things needed to occur for the events of the tribulation to occur. We need at least a generation of youth who reject true freedom and are willing to trust the state or someone who offers them security (Daniel 11:21). Christians would have to be vilified so the events in the Book of Revelation would be able to occur without public outrage (Revelation 20:4). Not in my lifetime have I seen Christians treated like bigots the way they are today. Catholics are targeted by the US justice department under the Patriot act as possible terrorist for voicing their beliefs. Pro-life advocates have been arrested using the full power of the Justice department for praying outside abortion clinics. These events have taken place with little to no uproar from the American public. The US dollar will have to become unstable to allow for the eventual one-world currency (Revelation 13:16–17). Today, the US national debt is over thirty-three trillion with no plan to begin to cut back on spending. To get out of this situation of out of control debt, the Federal Reserve is looking at issuing the first ever (CBDC). This is a Central Bank Digital Currency which would eliminate the need for cash. The cons of a CBDC is they will be able to track every purchase and under nefarious intentions stops transactions for purchases they deem undesirable. For example guns, cars that are not electric, or any item the government does not want citizens to own. This also fits in flawlessly with Revelation 13:16-17. Finally, in my over fifty years of life, no time in my life fit (Matthew 24:37-40) more than today. I believe the world is truly in chaos politically and spiritually. Which makes it ripe for a leader to appear as a savior who will promise peace and unity. He will use the promise of peace through Diversity and equity, but he will be an imposter, using the world’s desire for peace and security to enslave them. Daniel 11:21, Daniel 11:36,
