The return of Israel as a nation.
On May 14, 1948, a major prophecy was fulfilled when the United Nations granted Israel statehood. In Luke 21, Jesus speaks of the future of Israel. In regards to the end time, he speaks in a parable (The lesson of the Fig Tree). Israel is often compared to a fig tree which is prevalent in Israel.
Luke 21:29 And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. 31 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Jesus is teaching his disciples that after Israel is destroyed and scattered around the world they will rise up as a nation once again. When you see this occur the end days are upon them and that generation will not pass away before his coming.
In Ezekiel, it speaks of a great migration of Jews returning to the promise land from all over the world.
Ezekiel 36:24
“For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands, and bring you into your own land.
The years between 1948 to 1951 saw the largest migration to ever reach the shores of Israel. In the 1950’s the mass migration of Jews from all over the world doubled the population of Israel.
Jeremiah 16:14-15
“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when it shall no longer be said, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ For I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their fathers
